Hero - Dairy

Masters Program

  • The research topics involve the use of principles and technologies of engineering to manage animals aiming to: (1) develop early detection of sow lameness using a pressure mat and depth images, and (2) develop and test an accelerometer to monitor sow activity during the first week of lactation.  These positions aim to develop technologies to provide producers with information on the health, well-being and production of the animals.  The incumbents will earn their degrees in the Biological Systems Engineering Department.
